2008 USA Taekwondo Referee Development Seminar

On Sunday, March 30th, Master Sueng Hwan Kim, an international referee, presented a
USA Taekwondo referee seminar for the members of the Florida state Taekwondo
Aassociation. It was a pleasant surprise to see that 35 members participated in the training
sacrificing their Sunday for the benefit of the competitors.This is an excellent start for the
upcoming Florida State championship.
Master Kim gave an excellent seminar that lasted for 8 ½ hours.The latest competition rules
were discussed and many hours were spent on recognizing a scoring technique, safety of
competitors, referee hand signals and infractions that may warrant a kyong-go or gam-jeom
penalty.
The board members of the FSTA would like to thank Master Kim for making the 6 hour
drive from Georgia.
